1. Change in Examination Mode: CBT Mode 

The first major change in NEET 2027 is the change in examination mode; NEET 2027 will be in CBT (Computer based Test) /  online mode. The education minister has officially confirmed that offline mode for NEET will be scrapped and the NTA will conduct the NEET 2027 and other future attempts of NEET in the online mode. 

The main purpose of conducting the exam through online mode is to reduce paper leak cases and make the examination process better. 

2. Multiple Shift Exam – 

The second change in the NEET 2027 is that the exam will no longer be a single day examination; NEET 2027 will be conducted in multiple phases and days. It is the obvious change that comes with the CBT mode examination, as CBT exams for 25+ lakhs aspirants requires online exam centers, which are sufficient as of now. 

It is similar to the JEE and other online examinations, NEET 2027 will be conducted in multiple days and shifts. The 25+ Lakh aspirants take the exam on different days. As for the total duration, the NEET 2027 online exam could span 7 to 10 days, with two shifts conducted each day. 

3. Fix Attempts / Upper Age Limit for NEET 2027:-

Now coming to the rumours that might take place as changes in NEET 2027. NEET aspirants must be aware that from 2027, there may be a limit on the number of NEET attempts or upper age limit criteria. 

Aim to implement this change would be the decreasing number of repeaters and increasing competition in freshers only. Well, there is no certain age for the age limit for NEET 2027 as the criteria is not official. No official source is claiming this change, it is just a potential change. 

4. JEE & NEET Merge “One Nation One Entrance Exam”

Another potential expected change in NEET 2027 is the merger of JEE & NEET and conducting one entrance exam. There are many rumours that the Education Ministry of India is planning to introduce the One Nation, One Entrance Exam policy. Let’s understand what this is. Under this program, JEE and NEET examinations may be combined, and a single unified entrance exam will be conducted. This means that the Chemistry and Physics sections will be the same for both JEE and NEET students, while the Mathematics and Biology sections will be provided according to the candidate’s chosen stream.

5. Improve in Security levels

After so many allegations and paper leak cases, NTA will improve its security levels and introduce AI-based systems to make the NEET examination more secure, transparent, and fair for all candidates. As per the reports, NTA may introduce AI-based CCTV cameras and Aadhaar biometric verification systems to improve exam security and avoid any illegal activities during the examination.
