Amid the last minute preparations of Re-NEET 2026, NTA has released the dress code for the exam day. Surprisingly, this time there are some changes in the NEET dress code. The changes and complete new dress for Re-NEET 2026 is given in this article. 

As you all know, the Re-NEET 2026 is scheduled for the 21st June 2026. Admit cards for the Re-NEET 2026 have already been launched and most of the candidates have already downloaded it. Meanwhile, on 18th June 2026, 4 days before the exam day, NTA released a press note regarding the Re-NEET 2026 dress code which is decoded here. 

Concept of NEET Dress Code Explained: What it is & Why it is Released

Every year, before the NEET Exam day, NTA releases this dress code advisory. It is released to maintain the smooth entry of the students ensuring the security and fairness of the exam. Also, the dress code at the exam centers save the check in time and make the verification of students faster. 

The dress code includes what type of clothes aspirants have to wear, what accessories are allowed, and what they can carry in the exam hall. 

Students arriving without adhering to the dress code undergo thorough screening; for instance, if they are wearing prohibited accessories, they are required to remove them, and in many cases, they may even have to change their attire if the clothing worn is not permitted.

Aspirants who appear in the exam follow this dress code so that they can enter in the exam hall without any time delay in security checking.

Dress Code for Re-NEET 2026: What’s Allowed & What’s Not 

As always, NTA was supposed to release the dress code, and it got released on the 18th June. Usually, the dress code remains the same as the last few years, but the Re-NEET 2026 dress code came with minor changes. Let’s have a look;

  1. Aspirants can carry transparent water bottles in the exam hall. 
  2. Aspirants are allowed to take transparent plastic covers for admit card safety. 
  1. NTA advised students to wear light and comfortable clothing.
  2. Aspirants may wear full-sleeve clothes or woollen garments if required. However, they should report to the examination centre well in advance for additional security checks.

Note – Make sure you reach the exam center earlier than usual if you are wearing any heavy dress items. 

  1. Objects of faith, including religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs, and similar items are allowed to wear in the NEET 2026 (re-exam) hall. 

Note – If you are carrying any religious attire or article given above have to be ready for additional security check at the exam center so reach at the center earlier. 

  1. Preferably, students can wear slippers and low-heeled sandals. 
  2. In case you are wearing high-heeled footwear, you may be facing additional security checkings. 
  1. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, and all other electronic gadgets.
  2. Any communication devices or digital equipment.
  3. Metallic items, large belt buckles, heavy jewellery, and unnecessary accessories.

Important Security Instructions for Re-NEET 2026 

In the released dress code of Re-NEET 2026, NTA clearly mentioned that all NEET aspirants will undergo mandatory frisking before entering the examination centre. Moreover, NTA advised students to reach the exam center on or before scheduled reporting time.

Yes, articles of faith such as turbans, hijabs, kalawas, and religious symbols are allowed in the Re-NEET 2026 exam hall. Aspirants wearing such attire have to reach the exam centre early for thorough frisking.

5. Can I wear a watch during Re-NEET 2026?

No, watches, including smartwatches and digital watches, are strictly prohibited inside the Re-NEET 2026 examination hall.
